Friend has dead cylinder on #1, won't get spark. Known good CP and Plug will work on other cylinders, but not on it. PTU to CP part of the subharness is cut out and directly wired. All connections beeped. We also even bypassed rest of the harness and went straight from PTU to the CP with a jumper wire, didn't change it. POS and NEG to the CP checks out. We tested continuity from ECU to PTU, fine. We swapped ECU's, fine. We bypassed the ECU to PTU subharness with a bunch of jumpers, still same thing. I even bypassed the entire harness for CP#1, so that POS and NEG came straight from the battery, and signal straight from the PTU, same thing. Oh yea, and a while back they swapped for another PTU, same problem. All connectors clean. Only thing left I can think of for my issue is cutting the connection for #1 leaving the ECU (Pin 1) to the PTU, and then jumpering all the way from the ECU directly to PTU, eliminating the harness. If that still fails, and we can't get spark...i dunno WTF we can do, because we've literally tried swapping and bypassing every element of the system. Hopefully at least some of the steps I tried you can try, and maybe it will expose an issue in your system. Good luck. These problems are a PITA.
